C9 hydrocarbon resin is a type of resin produced by fraction C9, by petroleum cracking products, through pretreatment, polymerization and distillation. This is not a high polymer but a low polymer with a molecular weight between 300-3000. Generally, resins are not used separately, but must be used in conjunction with other types of resins as promoters, regulating agents and modifiers.
Applications: Paints, Rubber, Resin Adhesives, Printing inks and as paper glutting agents, plastic modifiers etc.
