Vinyl Acetate Monomer (VAM) is a colorless, volatile, flammable mobile liquid, with characteristic sweet etheral odor. It is soluble in most organic solvents including chlorinated solvents, but is not soluble in water.
Vinyl acetate monomer is chemical building block used for a wide variety of industrial and consumer products, particularly polyvinyl acetate. It is used to produce paints, adhesives, coatings, and polyester fiber-fill insulation textiles. Other end products include adhesives, insulation for magnetic wires, and safety glass.
